It seems like no time at all that the Ford owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) group were in financial freefall, and the company seemed as though it was soon to become only a part of history. However, Sky News reported this week that JLR sales are at an all time high, with record sales in 38 global markets seeing UK increases of 15% for Jaguar and 13% for Land Rover.
This increase in sales is due to the fact that both Land Rover and Jaguar now cater to a wider market than ever before, Jaguar now offers saloons, estates, GT cars and the hugely well received beauty that is the all new F-type. This catering for an existing market, whilst branching out to find new ones, has proven to be an excellent philosophy for Jaguar and has made them one of the few car manufacturers that has grown significantly in recent years.
Land Rover have chosen a rather different approach and have decided to refine the original concept of building the best 4×4’s to accommodate what the everyday driver needs. Land Rover now offers some of the most capable off-road vehicles available that also carry you along in the lap of luxury. Models such as the Range Rover Evoque, new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are proving hugely popular all over the world, and people simply cannot get enough of Land Rover’s mix of ability and luxury.
