In terms of off-road ability, nothing in the supermini class comes anywhere close to the Panda. With prices from £14,445, a range of engines and some wonderful customisation options the Panda is a great way to get yourself a 4×4 bargain.
Skoda Yeti
The last and most expensive car on the list is available from £16,715, but when you consider that a basic spec Volkwagen Golf weighs in at £16,975 it is still a distinct bargain. Anyone doubting the toughness of the car should watch Jeremy Clarkson’s thorough test of the Yeti below, in which he really puts it through its paces. With Volkswagen group levels of quality as well as incredible levels of value the Yeti manages to be one of the most capable all-round cars on the planet.
